Most of the friction in hiring a cleaning company happens before anyone cleans anything. Getting a quote takes three exchanges, the price turns out to be indicative, the scope is unclear, and the client ends up supervising a stranger in their own flat for two hours. Shine Guards runs professional cleaning services in Bratislava on a four-step process designed to remove most of that. This article walks through the process step by step and explains what is decided at each stage.
Step One: The Request
The process starts with a request submitted through the form on the Bratislava page. The required fields are the service type, a phone number, an email address and a preferred date, with the first choice being whether you are booking as a private or a business client.
That first choice matters, because it routes the request into a different set of questions. Private bookings are quoted on property size and condition; business bookings are quoted on area, footfall, frequency and timing.
The online calculator produces an initial figure at this stage. It is a starting point rather than a final number, and it exists so that the first conversation begins with a realistic expectation rather than with an unknown.
The comments field is where the request becomes useful. Specific requirements — an oven that needs doing, a landlord’s handover checklist, allergies, a pet, a difficult building entrance — belong here rather than in a later call.
Requests can also be made directly by phone, email, WhatsApp or Telegram, which is generally faster when the timing is tight.
Step Two: The Confirmation Call
A manager responds within roughly 30 minutes. Each client is handled by a named person rather than by a rotating queue, which means the same manager handles the booking, the follow-up and any subsequent visits.
The call establishes the parameters that set the price: the size of the property, the number of rooms, whether there are pets, and which extras are needed. For commercial premises it covers area, frequency, timing and access instead.
The tier is settled here if it is unclear. The diagnostic question is how long it has been since the last professional clean — recent points to Basic, a couple of months points to Full-Scale, longer or unknown points to Deep.
The price is fixed at the end of this call. Shine Guards agrees the figure in advance and does not change it after the work is done, which places the risk of a longer-than-expected visit on the company rather than the client.
Extras are agreed here too, at published rates: appliance cleaning at €35 for a fridge, oven or extractor hood and €22 for a microwave, cabinet work, ironing and wardrobe organisation at €28 per hour. Nothing is added later without agreement.
Access is arranged at the same time — key handover, smart lock code, building entry, parking. These are the details that most often delay a visit on the day, and they are resolved in this call.
Step Three: The Visit
The specialist arrives at the agreed time with all equipment and cleaning supplies. Nothing needs to be provided by the client, although the company will use a client’s own products on request where there are allergies or specific surface requirements.
Clients do not need to be present. Most leave a key or provide access through a smart lock, and the company takes responsibility for the property while its staff are on site.
Work follows the checklist for the booked service. Basic Cleaning covers dusting, vacuuming, mopping, kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, polished fixtures, contact points, waste removal and tidying, with room-by-room lists for bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and living areas.
Higher tiers extend that scope. Full-Scale adds a whole-home pass with bathroom disinfection, interior windows, hoods and balconies; Deep adds exterior windows, appliance interiors, all cabinets and stain removal from carpets and upholstery.
Every Shine Guards specialist completes training and passes a practical assessment before working independently with clients. The team communicates in English, Ukrainian and Russian.
Scheduling is arranged around the client — mornings, evenings or weekends — and the contact centre operates seven days a week, so the visit can be placed when the property is empty rather than when a shift pattern allows.
Step Four: Payment and Follow-Up
Payment is taken after the service, not before. Cash, bank cards and cashless payment are all accepted, so the transaction runs the way the client prefers.
The amount is the amount agreed on the confirmation call. This is the point at which fixed pricing either holds or does not, and it is the single most useful thing to verify when comparing providers.
The manager follows up after the visit. If something was not done correctly, it is corrected without an additional charge and without an escalation process — the client contacts the same person who arranged the booking.
Damage is handled under a stated policy: in the rare case something is damaged during cleaning, the company takes full responsibility and resolves the issue quickly.
For recurring clients, the schedule is set and the same specialist assigned where possible. Preferences do not need re-explaining, and visits get faster as the cleaner learns the property.
What Is Decided Where
Understanding which stage decides what removes most of the uncertainty from the process. The service tier is decided on the confirmation call, based on the condition of the property rather than on the budget.
The price is decided on the confirmation call and does not change afterwards. Any change in scope after that point requires an agreement, not an invoice adjustment.
The scope is decided by the tier plus any extras, and both are settled before the specialist is dispatched. Nothing is discovered mid-visit and billed later.
The timing is decided by the client, within the available schedule. Urgent requirements are covered separately by dispatch within two hours at €30 per hour.
The result is verified after the visit by the manager, and corrections are free. That last point is what makes the fixed-price model workable in both directions: the client cannot be charged more, and the company cannot close a job that was not finished.
